I absolutely love that has put together the following list of some of the restaurant chains open on Thanksgiving Day to serve your family and friends. No waiting forever for your waitstaff to return with your recipe. I’m completely won over by that and anything else is deeply primitive. We scanned a code and used Apple Pay right from our phone. We especially liked their online checkout process which is the best I’ve ever observed. These guys are good and I recommend them unreservedly. Most seem not quite ready for prime time or understaffed or other concerns including ridiculous price points. We certainly plan to visit again and I must say this has been one of our best post COVID-19 outings at a restaurant yet. Their veggie omelet was good as well and served with a biscuit or fruit I chose the fruit and was very ample. Very hardy serving of pancakes indeed so if you order that come prepared to eat hardy. We both had breakfast items I had their veggie Omelet and my wife had a more traditional breakfast with pancakes. busy and we were seated promptly after someone noticed we were there and our waitress showed quickly and accepted our drink orders. They have extensive menu options and service was first rate and prompt, although admittedly I was concerned upon entering the restaurant but someone did show fairly promptly. My wife and I visited this place for lunch this week and we were very impressed. I believe this location has serious management issues, and next time we'll wait 40 minutes for a table at Texas Roadhouse next door. For Black Bear Diner, this was a very inexpensive cut of meat, and it was almost an insult. for the sad excuse for a prime rib that I had tonight. What I don't understand is paying almost $30. There's major construction going on in the parking lot that doubtless has a negative effect on the number of customers in the place, but I don't think it should affect the efficiency of service (just my opinion). I understand short staffs, new employees, training challenges, etc. We paid our bill, left a 20% tip and took a wonderful piece of chocolate cake home. Fortunately, the cashier was alert and on top of things. Once I'd chosen my dessert (my wife declined), we waited another several minutes before I decided to order it to go at the register while I paid. I reminded her that I'd like to see a menu. We watched her wait on three tables before she returned and asked me what I was having. I wanted to see the menu again and she left. After some time, our server brought our check, cleared the table and asked if we'd like dessert. The meat, however, was small, thin and almost flavorless. It seemed somewhat steep, but I was in the mood for steak and, having no reason to expect anything other than what I'm used to, I went for it. My wife pointed to the salad she wanted on the menu. She was polite but unfamiliar with the menu, and explained that she's new. Then we waited close to ten minutes before a server appeared. The place was nearly empty, which seemed odd for a Saturday, but we waited longer than we should have for a table. Tonight, I took my wife to dinner at the Aurora location. I was excited when a location opened near my home in Aurora, and though I wasn't able to visit until restrictions had been lifted, I was pleased by my first few meals there (especially their breakfasts), but over time they seem in some way to be in decline. My first experience was at a location in Colorado Springs, and I was blown away by the friendliness, professionalism and speed of the staff. ![]() I've been a fan of Black Bear Diner since a little before covid hit.
